At ICAR-DGR on the occasion of World Environment Day, 05^th June 2023 a programme was organized with a thrust on the mission LIFE i.e., Lifestyle for Environment. In the programme Dr. N. D. Dholaria, Associate Professor, JAU, Junagadh was invited as guest speaker to give a lecture on “Solutions to plastic pollution”. The programme started with welcome of guest and Director, ICAR-DGR by Dr. Praveen Kona, Chairman, FMC and coordinator of the programme. Dr. N. D. Dholaria gave his guest lecture and explained about the various effects of plastic pollution, the root causes of pollution and habits to be inculcated by all of us to achieve the plastic pollution free society. Later, Dr. S.K. Bera, Director, ICAR-DGR explained about the qualities and responsibilities of citizens towards pollution free India which is a highest population country. He also stressed on the how the environment is fluctuating, impact on the society, duties or responsibilities of citizens towards pollution control, and benefits of growing trees. The session ended with formal vote of thanks followed by plantation of tree saplings at ICAR-DGR campus. More than 70 staffs participated in the programme.
