ICAR-DGR has conducted a three-day training programme cum Kisan Goshti on “Improved production practices for remunerative summer groundnut” for scheduled caste (SC) farmers under ICAR-DGR- SCSP funds. Dr. Chandramohan Sangh (Chairman); Dr. Papa Rao Vaikuntapu (Member); Dr. Praveen Kona (Member); Dr. SD Savaliya (Member) organized the training program. Dr. KK Pal (PI, ABI); Dr. Harish G (Nodal Officer, SCSP) and Dr. Kiran Kumar Reddy (Co-PI, ABI) were also actively involved in this entire training programme. The training programme was organized from 03.03.2022- 05.03.2022 along with ABI ICAR-DGR. The programme was kick started with introductory remarks by Dr. Chandra Sekhar Praharaj (Director/Acting) and Dr. Harish G, Scientist, Nodal Officer-SCSP. About 80 SC farmers from Kajaliyala Mota village had participated on the 1^st day, 68 SC farmers from Datrana village had participated on the 2^nd day and about 33 farmers from Vishal Hadmatiya village had participated on 3^rd day of the training programme. A total of around 181 farmers were trained in recent technologies of groundnut production, pests and disease management, soil health cards, different promising groundnut varieties of Gujarat, management of nutritional disorders and biofertilizers. At the end of the programme, farmers were distributed with farming kits, pamphlets and extension materials.
