
Girnar 1
‘Girnar 1 (CGC 4018)’ (Arachis hypogaea L.) is a small seeded Spanish type groundnut variety derived from a pedigree selection from a cross, ‘X 14-4-B-19-B’ x ‘NCAc 17090’. It was released for all India in 1988. The variety is resistant to biotic (ELS, LLS, rust, collar rot and A. flavus seed colonization) and abiotic (drought) stresses.

Girnar 2
‘Girnar 2 (PBS 24030)’: A high-yielding Virginia bunch variety developed by adopting bulk-pedigree method of breeding from the cross ‘M 13’ x ‘R 33-1’ was released in 2008 for north-western zone I (northern Rajasthan, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh) for kharif season. This variety has bold kernels (61g /100 seeds). Kernels of bigger size ae obtained in sandy soils of Rajasthan. This variety has average shelling turnover of 69 % and yields 51% oil.

Girnar 3
‘Girnar 3 (PBS 12160)’: High-yielding Spanish bunch variety with medium bold kernels has been derived from a cross of ‘Girnar 1’ x ‘ICGS 11’ and released in 2010 for cultivation in kharif in eastern states namely, West Bengal, Orissa and Manipur. This variety has fresh seed dormancy of 2-3 weeks depending upon season and drying process. ‘Girnar 3’matures in 104 to 111 days, and has moderate levels of end-of-season drought stress.

HNG 10
‘HNG 10’: A Virginia bunch variety developed at ARS, Hanumangarh from the material supplied from ICAR-DGR,Junagadh. This variety possessing high shelling and oil content was released in the year 1998 for khrif cultivation in the states of Rajasthan, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. It matures in 125-130 days with 1918 kg/ha pod yield and 51% oil content. Suitable for the rainfed irrigated situation

GG 5
‘GG 5’: An early maturing Spanish groundnut variety developed at GAU, Junagadh (renamed JAU) from the material supplied from ICAR-DGR. This variety which matures in 100 days was released in the year 1996 for cultivation in Zone II.

GG 7 (38)
‘GG 7 (38)’: A high yielding Spanish groundnut variety having inbuilt tolerance to rust, late leaf spot and PBND was released in the year 2001 from the material supplied by ICAR-DGR, Junagadh for its cultivation in Zone II (Gujarat and south Rajasthan. It matures in 96-105 days.

AK 159
‘AK 159’: A high yielding Spanish bunch variety with medium maturity (105-115 days) derived from a cross JL 24 x CGC-4018 through pedigree breeding. This variety was developed from the segregating material supplied from ICAR-DGR, Junagadh and released in the year 2002 for commercial cultivation in the states of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.

Raj Mungfali 3 (RG 559-3)
‘Raj Mungfali 3 (RG 559-3)’: ‘Raj Mungfali 3 (Rg 559)’ a high yielding Virginia groundnut variety developed at RARI, Durgapura from the breeding material supplied from ICAR-DGR, Junagadh in F6 generation of a cross (TKG 19A x Kadiri 3) x TKG 19A has been identified in 2015 for kharif cultivation in Zone I (Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab).
